HOW DO THEY WORK?
The trucks with excess concrete are positioned in the recycler and, using its shower system, water is provided for cleaning the vat, to reduce the consistency of the excess concrete and convert it into liquid concrete. The liquid concrete and added water are discharged into the hopper of the recycler and are washed inside it, separating the cement particles and fine sand from the rest. The sand and cement particles, together with the surplus water, are drained into the waste water tanks.
The aggregates (gravel/sand), once the circuit is created inside the recycler, are discharged from the front and can be reused for manufacturing new concrete. The waste water tanks keep the particles in suspension by means of its stirrers.
The waste water is pumped from the tank to the concrete plant for making new concrete. Its density can be monitored by installing a density meter and thus adjusting how much clean water needs to be added to regulate the density of the water in the tanks.
With this process, the concrete reaches the recycling plant and it is separated into the materials that compose it; aggregates, cement and water, thus closing the circuit of materials and generating zero waste.
The aim of a waste concrete recycling system is to protect the environment and its ecological surroundings. For this purpose, the main aim is always to recover 100% of the excess concrete from the lorries. The only way to achieve this is to create a closed circuit of the material used in making the concrete.
